Yes, I am working on an alternative (called TrustChain) to Hedera and Algorand as I believe they are broken. Some of the key ideas in TrustChain are borrowed from these protocols and modified to remove the vulnerabilities mentioned above. If you would like to discuss further, do send me an email.
